In some states it's illegal to bring a lion to the movies or sleep in the bathtub

The U.S., like every other country, has its share of strange legal hiccups. As for their enforcement, I guess it depends on how zealous police officers are.

According to oddstuffmagazine.com, in Maine, it is illegal to step out of a plane while it's still in mid-air. In Baltimore, New England, you will be breaking the law by bringing a lion to the movies.

You can't ride a bicycle in a swimming pool in California, and don't even think about sleeping in the bathtub in Detroit, Michigan. In the state of Arizona, men are allowed to beat their wives, as long as they only do it once per month.

A mysterious law from Iowa reads that a man with a mustache is not allowed to kiss a woman in public. Meantime, in Arkansas, teachers mustn't bob their hair, or they will be denied a raise.

Another strange piece of legislation comes from Georgia, where, if you are walking on the streets with a giraffe by your side, you are not allowed to tie it to a telephone pole or street lamp.

Oddly enough, some of these laws have been around for centuries, and people just don't bother changing them.
