Everybody that went camping at least once in their lives knows that light is at a premium, the forest being one particularly scary place during the night, so a flashlight is among the most important things that you can bring away with you, Coleman developing the Quad Lantern that enables you to share your light with three other of your closest fiends.

So, how does this thing work you ask?

Well, if you take a good look at the Quad Lantern then you should definitely figure it out, this flashlight being actually made up of four separate LED panels that can be detached from the base so you can take it with you wherever you may want, each panel coming in with six 5mm white LEDs.

If those LED lights fail to impress you, then you must know this isn't one of those skimpy solutions that doesn't even manage to light up two meters in front of you, since the Quad Lantern is able to provide its users with up to 190 lumens once all the panels are attached to the base, Coleman stating this things has a range of about 26 feet (or about 8 meters).

In regards to power, this whole contraption is powered by 8 D-cell batteries that can provide its users with up to 75 hours of light, each panel being recharged once it is returned to the base.

All in all, I would say this is a definite keeper if you often find yourself going on camping trips with your friends, especially if your acquaintances are the type of people that always manage to somehow leave behind one thing or another.

But there's a catch since the Quad Lantern isn't cheap by any means, Coleman selling this for no less then $69.99, a bit to much for a flashlight, if you ask me.
