Numerous music artists including Coldplay, Fat Boy Slim and Gorillaz are now available on the popular online video sharing service YouTube after the parent company Google signed a deal with EMI Music. The agreement will bring a considerable amount of music videos on YouTube and avoid potential copyright infringement complaints that are often filed by the clip owners. Although the two companies didn't mention it, the agreement is probably creating a new YouTube channel that will provide instant access to the clips powered by EMI Music.

"With this deal, all four of the world's major music companies are now official YouTube partners," said Chad Hurley, CEO and Co-founder of YouTube. "EMI is a proven leader in the emerging digital music landscape and one of the world's largest and most respected music companies. We're excited to add EMI Music's stellar roster of artists' content to our site and make it available to our community."

According to a press release published by the music company, this is the first time when EMI Music provides authorized video content on the Internet, YouTube being the perfect service to host and present them to the public. "Working with YouTube under this agreement meets EMI's objectives to offer consumers the best possible entertainment experiences, to create new ways to connect our artists to fans and to enter into innovative business models that will generate revenues for our business and our creators. Through this agreement EMI Music and its artists will be fairly compensated for their work," Eric Nicoli, CEO of EMI Group, said.

As you probably know, YouTube's goal is to partner with a lot of companies able to provide video content because the online video sharing service is currently the largest service in its category with a huge amount of traffic generated every day by its registered members.
