Video game developer and publisher Codemasters has announced a number of new details for its upcoming F1 Online: The Game while also inviting all interested games to register at the official website if they are interested in taking part in the beta.

The players who engage with F1 Online: The Game will begin by choosing their own helmet design, their own team logo and their livery before delving into the tougher aspects of management.

As the boss of the team, they will have control over the development of the team headquarters, adding sections required in order to create a better car and also promote the brand of the team.

Departments that can be added include Research & Development, Production, Commercial and more.

In F1 Online: The Game players will be able to recruit the staff they need to run the various departments, allowing them to create new parts, put them together while also giving the commercial department the space it needs to bring in sponsorships and backers in order to finance the entire effort.

Doing solid management work will be crucial for the success of the team drivers in the actual races, which are seen from a top-down perspective and allow each gamer to see how his choices play out.

Those who register for the Codemasters-made F1 Online: The Game will be able to access the closed beta and offer feedback to the development team, shaping the features of the game ahead of the open beta phase, which is currently planned for the second quarter of 2012.

Codemasters will also offer in-game rewards for those who play the beta. Alongside the more complex Grand Prix races, which will use real world cars, pilots and locations, F1 Online: The Game will also offer smaller challenges for gamers that look for quicker races.
