The Windows Phone 6.5 might be seen as old by some, but there are those who still use it, and also those who like making enhancements to it, one of which comes in the form of Co0kie’s Home Tab 2.0, currently in beta.

What the solution is all about includes a series of changes brought to the HTC Sense 2.5 solution, making things a little more appealing.

It seems that the new release comes with a series of design changes, offering a number of up to 7 homescreens, and not only different quick links areas.

Users will be able to customize each homescreen with the links and widgets they consider fit, including email, sms, RSS, weather, clocks , and others more.

Moreover, the new solution comes with a custom menu bar at the bottom, which enables customizations with various keys, while also offering the possibility to include the traditional slider with this bar.

Among the new features packed inside the solution, we can count:

- left/right sliding pages configurable from 1 to 7 pages (separately configurable for portrait, landscape and lockscreen) - redesigned softkey area, bottom menu and tab slider (tap and hold the slider button, don't just tap and release) - quick links can be configured in any row by column layout - new links that can be freely moved anywhere on the screen (free links - add from popup menu) - free links have a slide-to-launch feature on the lockscreen - more widgets: email, sms, RSS, weather, clocks (digital, flip and analog) - addon widget framework: widgets can be made by anyone and installed as an addon cab - widgets can be pinned into place and some can be freely resized

Additional info on the new CHT version v2.0.0 are available on this post on XDA-Developers forums (via Pocketnow).

Those interested in trying the software on their Windows Mobile-based devices should keep in mind that this is only a beta release, and that it does not sport compatibility with the older releases.
