The International Space Station provides a great viewing platform

It seems to be "cloud day" on the ISS, as astronaut Chris Hadfield has tweeted photos several very interesting clouds and cloud patterns in a row.

There's an ice dragon off the coast of Newfoundland, a spade over the Pacific, and some very interesting shadows over mountains.

Quite obviously, when you circle the world several times a day you get to see a lot of clouds over a lot of places.

Not only is the top-down perspective something most of us will never experience, but you can also reach very remote places from above. Few people would be there to see clouds over the Pacific or anywhere out to sea, but they stand out easily from space.

Enjoy these photos and whatever else Hadfield manages to post in the next week or so, because he's coming back to Earth soon.
