14 DAY TRIAL // Junecloud, a small software development company in Northville, Michigan, has announced Notefile, a note-taking application for all iOS devices that syncs with your Mac through a freely downloadable Dashboard widget.
Pointed out by AppShopper, an iOS and Mac App Store tracker, Notefile is so much better than Apple’s solution, at least for those who depend on having their notes synchronized across their Apple systems.
While Apple’s notes application does sync with the ‘notes’ folder in Mail.app on Mac OS X, users can get easily confused as to which note was added when, which got deleted and which didn’t get synced, and so on.
By providing an identical interface on both Mac and iOS, Notefile makes it much easier to track your notes and access them whenever you’re on the go or at home.
Displayed in chronological order from top to bottom with the most recent addition listed on top, notes are easily accessible on the Mac in a dashboard widget (pictured left), or on your iPhone through the dedicated application.
The Macintosh client is free (donationware, to be precise), whereas the iOS application costs $4.99 to buy on both iPhone and iPad.
Speaking of which, the official developer description goes:
“Notefile lets you make quick notes and view them quickly, from anywhere. It’s a universal app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. You can sync notes between all your iOS devices, as well as with our free Dashboard widget for Mac. You can also view and edit your notes on our web site at junecloud.com/sync."
Key features include the ability to sync your notes with your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Dashboard on your Mac, junecloud.com, support for TextExpander touch snippet expansion, and multiple language support - English, Japanese (by Nobtaka Nukui and Justin McPeak), French (Thierry Di Lenarda), and German (Jennifer Brehm).

To use the app, iOS 4.0 or later is required. On the desktop front, Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard or later is required to install and run the widget in your Dashboard.
