Steve Newman enjoyed the experience so much, he plans to do it again

A few days back, one gym-manager named Steven Newman took it to himself to help save rhinos worldwide by skydiving in South Africa.

It may very well be that this was not the first time when a person decided to go flying through the air for the sake of environmental protection and biodiversity conservation (i.e. a 68-year-old did the very same thing not very long ago), yet Steven Newman's endeavor truly stands out amongst others of its kind.

This is because this 29-year-old greenhead wore absolutely nothing while taking the leap.

Huffington Post reports that, after setting the basis for a conservation project known as “Skydive for Rhinos,” Steven Newman informed the general public that, should he succeed in raising a minimum of $10,000, he would skydive with no clothes on.

It need not come as such a big surprise that people worldwide were quick in embracing Newman's cause as soon as this announcement hit the online community, and that donations pretty much poured in.

Once the $10,000 were raised, Newman had no choice but to keep his promise, take his clothes off and go skydiving over Cape Town, South Africa, which is where he lives. Apparently, he was 12,000 feet (3.65 kilometers) above the ground when he jumped.

Outside temperatures were only 10 degrees Fahrenheit (12.22 degrees Celsius), but the jump went as smoothly as possible.

In fact, Steven Newman says he plans to go through this experience again on the 10th of November, given the fact that his little stunt drew significant media attention and thus raised awareness with respect to the need to protect rhinos.

In case anyone was wondering how Newman's body coped with the jump, this is what the gym-manager told members of the press soon after landing: “At 10 degrees Fahrenheit, I don't think your winky is the biggest worry in the whole world.”

Furthermore, “If I can help make a difference and all it takes is a little bit of effort, then that's what I'm going to do.”

Questions concerning how Newman's instructor felt about jumping with this gym-manager are still lacking an answer.
