The Reserator 3 is now available for chips of up to 400W TDP

There are no CPUs that can reach thermal loads of 400W on their own, but with overclocking they might. Even the AMD FX-9590 8-core 5 GHz unit.

Knowing that, Zalman invented the Reserator 3, a closed-loop liquid cooler made of a pre-assembled, coolant-filled pump, two tubes, a large, circular fin stack, and a LED-lit fan.

It’s actually strange that the heatsink uses a series of coolant tubes and heatpipes, instead of a conventional liquid-cooling radiator.

As for the fan, it measures 120mm in diameter.

I'm not about to advise people to take the plunge and tweak their CPU to kingdom come, just to see if the cooler really can handle 400W thermal loads.

Buyers can do that on their own without prompting. Sadly, the price is unknown, and retailers haven't revealed this detail that Zalman overlooked in its announcement.
