It wasn't perfect, but it will be

The Xbox 360 has a lot of high-quality, exclusive franchises, but one of the most important is Epic Games' Gears of War series of third-person shooters, as the first one paved the way for the large sales of the device made by Microsoft.

Now, the second one was highly anticipated by a lot of people and generated some huge sales during its first few days since its release. But, sadly, it was crippled with flaws, especially in the multiplayer mode, where the lack of balance between weapons and the new additions weren't welcomed with open arms by many players.

The main creator of the series, Cliff Bleszinski, has now talked with the Official Xbox Magazine about the game and how, in hindsight, it wasn't as perfect as he would have wanted it to be, but, thanks to new DLC content planned and two patches that are constantly worked upon by the development team, things will get better.

“I remain extraordinarily proud of the work that I do as well as the gifted team I work with. But that said, nothing’s perfect and hindsight is 20/20. Matchmaking was very flawed out of the box; the game did ship with exploits, and it’s an unfortunate reality when you make a product that is played by millions of players on day one. That said, Horde was a resounding success, and this really seems to be the era of co-op really and truly emerging as its own thing, much like versus did years ago in the Quake and Doom era. But we’ll continue with DLC and keep that long tail as long as possible.”

With the next title update in the approval process at Microsoft, the whole Gears of War 2 experience will soon get much better and many people will be happy for it. Let's hope that such mistakes won't happen with the next game in the series and that we will all see a great title in the extremely popular franchise from Epic Games.
