If the newer versions of Prince of Persia don't do it for you, don't worry, Ubisoft is making the classic one available for you to download via Xbox Live. Prince of Persia Classic will be present on Xbox Live Marketplace early this summer, no more than a month from now.

Of course, this will be a remake of the 1989 Prince of Persia that started the platforming genre with intricate level design, exciting swordplay, puzzle solving. The remake will have it all, including the original storyline.

The developer says character designs have been improved, animations, visuals and lighting effects now give the game a look close to 3D, while the gameplay experience has been freshened, new traps, puzzles and enemies being added.

The story goes something like this: while the Sultan of Persia is away for a war, the evil Vizier seizes the throne for himself. He imprisons the beautiful Princess and gives her an hour to decide her fate, which is quite simple really - marry him or die. Here's where you, the courageous prince, step in. You too have 60 minutes to reach the princess, but far more difficult decisions lay ahead for you.

Details about price or exact release date haven't been made available. All we know is that Prince of Persia Classic will be released sometime at the beginning of this summer and since summer is beginning in just 15 days, one month from now seems like a reasonable release date.
