Reliance brings Classic 202 phone in India at an affordable price. This phone is made in China and represents a solution for many families that cannot afford more expensive technology.

India needs cheap, easy-to-afford mobile phones, as to respond to the growing needs of a large number of people that are just entering the mobile communication market. They are now experiencing their first encounter with a mobile phone and are reluctant to accepting too big of a technology leap.

Classic 202 is equipped with a FM radio and also has 3 separate address books that make it possible for more family members to use the same phone while keeping their personal contacts separate. Furthermore, it offers support for one email address and for displaying one web page. It can also play polyphonic ringtones which can be downloaded through Reliance Mobile World.

The phone also has a stopwatch, which proves to be extremely useful for making sure that call time does not go over a certain limit previously set by the user.

This is one of a special series of low cost mobile phones that reach at most the price of 88Rs (equivalent of USD22) with facility payment installments. "Through our new Classic range of feature rich handsets, we are confident of extending the benefits of mobility to an entirely new segment of population in metros, small cities as well as rural hinterland of India.", commented S.P. Shukla personal business president of Reliance Communications on the release of these mobile phones.

All cellulars in the Classic line are SIM enabled, which makes it easier for CDMA customers to change at any time. Classic 202 can be purchased at the price of USD19.
