A remake of the Hollywood classic movie Clash of the Titans is in the making and due to arrive next year, but what is of more interest to us is that it will be accompanied by a video game that's part of the franchise. Namco Bandai Games America Inc. and Warner Bros. Interactive, a division of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group, have announced today that a Clash of the Titans game is in the making and it will be ready pretty soon. The game is developed by Game Republic and it will be released in spring next year, on March 28 to be more precise.

Todd Thorson, director of marketing and public relations at Namco Bandai Games America, gave an official statement regarding the title, but it contains very little information in itself. “Clash of the Titans is a truly iconic entertainment experience. Bringing the re-imagined movie to life in an interactive adventure with Warner Bros. Interactive promises an unprecedented experience for video game and movie fans alike.”

What was made clear is that the game will be an action-adventure that will throw the fate of humanity into battle, as Zeus and Hades make their move to forever mold the human race. The movie adaptation will offer a variety of environments, like the rocky landscape of mountains, swamps and will even carry the player to the underworld. Players will embody the hero Perseus and will be allowed to use a vast arsenal of weapons and spells to fight mythological monsters such as the Medusa or Poseidon's Kraken.

The game will also feature a co-op mode but for how many players it will be or who the other playable characters are remains undisclosed. Greek mythology has given birth to many games such as the city-builder Zeus, the role-playing game Titan Quest or the famous action game God of War. The last one will prove to be a direct adversary for Clash of the Titans with its third installment, God of War 3.
