Clash of Clans, the popular combat strategy game for iPhone and iPad, has received an update recently which covers a wide range of game elements, including heroes, units, defense, and the gameplay itself.

A game that lets you build your village, train your troops and battle with others online, Clash of Clans version 3.25 brings new leaderboards and new unit upgrades.

Players must upgrade their Laboratory to unlock a bunch of level-6 units, such as sharper swords and mighty horned helmets for Barbarians, new bow techniques and fashionable tiaras from their Queen for Archers, heartier Giants (and hairier than ever), and pimped out balloons.

Defense gets new traps to stop airborne attackers, the ability to upgrade Air Defense turrets to level 7, and more.

Heroes now recover health faster thanks to the Alchemists' new sleep potion, and their stats are now displayed correctly when visiting villages. Heroes also patrol larger areas now, and display a guard radius when tapped.

Some gameplay improvements are also included. Spell creation times are reduced so that players can blast more magic more often, and wall levels 9 and 10 have been strengthened to hold off the rampaging hordes for longer.

Players now get a notification when their troops are ready for battle (Army Camps full), and the Shop now notifies players when new items are available for purchase.

While Clash of Clans is completely free to download and play, some game items are purchased with real money (in-app purchases).

Parents who don't want to let their kids use this feature can disable in-app purchases in the iOS settings menu.

Clash of Clans is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. It requires iOS 4.3 or later. The app is optimized for iPhone 5.
