Mostly for foreigners

The mobile banking system seems to become more and more popular, as banks from all over the world are releasing or considering releasing this kind of system. Such is the case with Citibank Korea, which has taken it to the next level, twisting the idea a bit, so that it would be most profitable. As a result, an English mobile banking application was born in Korea.

As you've probably figured out by now, this system was designed for foreigners who find it hard to deal with the Korean language while trying to make redraws or any type of mobile transactions. In addition, this system is said to be functional on almost all cell phones provided that a wireless Internet connection is available.

The next twist is the fact that the mobile banking system is implemented through an Internet program download developed especially for this, which allows users to make all sorts of transactions such as transfer/inquiry, FX rate inquiry, loan inquiry, GIRO payments and so on.

The service is going to be available for both new users as well as existing ones, the only difference being that the already existing ones can apply to the service without having to visit one of the branch offices of the bank.

The plan that the Korean bank has come up with is to release this application for SKT and KTF network users, and, should it develop in a profitable manner, then the service is to be extended to LGT users as well. Moreover, in order to attract customers, the bank is offering free money transfers for all of its already existing users to any other banks, as many times as they please; the only condition is to apply to the service in question.

Such a free transaction option is not something you see everyday and it might represent that certain plus that many are looking for before signing a deal.
