14 DAY TRIAL // The Syrian hacker Dr.SHA6H has breached and defaced the official website of the City of Mansfield (ci.mansfield.oh.us), located in the US state of Ohio.
On the defaced website, the hacker published a protest message against violence in Syria. He has also asked governments and human rights organizations to step in and take action, HackRead reports.
At the time of writing, the website is restored and working properly. However, it’s uncertain if the vulnerability exploited by the hacker to deface the site has been fixed. A mirror of the defacement is available on zone-h.org.
City of Mansfield representatives have not issued a statement regarding the incident.
In addition to the City of Mansfield website, Dr.SHA6H has also hacked the website of Kuwait’s National Council (nccal.gov.kw). The Kuwaiti government website (nccal.gov.kw/Media/Gallery.aspx) is still defaced.
