14 DAY TRIAL // Publisher and developer Focus Home Interactive announced last month Cities XXL, a new installment in the Cities XL series. No release dates or price tag have been set at that time, but fans of city-builders will be pleased to know that the new info on the matter has just been released.
Cities XXL is now available for pre-order via Steam for €31.99, a 20% discount for those who pre-order the game. The offer ends on January 29, the day Cities XXL should be released on Steam.
The folks at Focus Home Interactive also announced an exceptional offer for those who own any of the previous titles in the series (original, 2011, 2012, Platinum), but also for new players.
The former will receive a 50% discount when buying Cities XXL, whilst the latter will be able to get the game for 20% cheaper than the original €39.99 price.
It brings lots of improvements over the previous games in the series
Cities XXL promises to bring quite a few new features into the mix such as low-level city management mechanics and “green” features.
With the help of the new eco features implemented in Cities XXL, players will have the option to make their cities greener by adding park and ride, bike hire options, or upgrade their industrial buildings to reduce pollution.
The addition of Steam Workshop support will also ensure players that they will be able to try out new scenarios built by other players. They can even built their own custom content and share it with the community via Steam.
Graphics-wise, the level of details has been improved and a new street-level view will be implemented, which should offer a unique detailed view of the genre.
There are some other additions in terms of content over the previous games, like more than 1000 buildings, as well as at least 70 maps with new landscapes and environments.
