Gamers should take down mods after applying it

Video game developer Colossal Order and publisher Paradox Interactive are announcing that they are launching a new patch for Cities: Skylines, which is designed to solve a number of the issues the community has found since launch.

Gamers should be getting access to the update right now and will need to exit the game in order to allow it to download and apply it.

All those who are running a heavily modded version of Cities: Skylines will need to try and disable them all and then run a classic version of the game to see whether it works smoothly with the new patch 1.07 before re-enabling them.

A full list of the changes can be seen by clicking on the button at the end of this article.

The focus is on eliminating gameplay problems and on improving the asset editor and the integration with Steam Workshop.

Colossal Order adds, "As previously mentioned our core focus lies in solving the most common technical and accessibility issues some users are experiencing which should be clearly noticeable in this update. You might recognize some of these patch notes from previous threads, the reason being that we patched previously and then retracted it due to unexpected technical issues."

Cities: Skylines will continue to evolve in the coming months

Colossal Order has said since the city builder was first introduced that it wants to make sure that the game is in great shape before it even thinks of adding more content to it via DLC packs.

At the moment, gamers who are looking for new things to add to Cities: Skylines can go and visit the extensive amount of mods located in the Steam Workshop.

There's a way to turn the entire game into Mirror's Edge, and a fan has also created a way to explore the city via gyrocopter.

Cities: Skylines has become one of the biggest launches for Paradox Interactive, something the publisher did not expect to happen.

The game is designed to offer a classic take on city building while avoiding the major problems that plagued the reboot for SimCity that was created by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts.

Colossal Order will probably soon reveal its long-term plans to expand Cities: Skylines.
