No regrets: Whitney has accomplished a lot in her short time with us

As we also informed you over the weekend, Cissy Houston, the mother of the late Whitney Houston, is finally speaking out on the February tragedy that turned her life upside down: her daughter's death.

Video of a segment of the interview is now out and, as usual, you can see it below, embedded at the end of the article.

Ever since Whitney was found unresponsive in her hotel room on February 11, her mother Cissy has refused to speak to the press even to set right some of the wrongs widely circulated in the tabs.

Her sit-down with Fox's My9 marks the first interview she gives since Whitney's passing and, in all fairness, Cissy makes it memorable.

For starters, she says she doesn't blame herself for anything that's happened, saying she did all she could have done, as a mother, to save her daughter from a life of abuse and self-destruction.

Cissy also puts all her faith in God: if He decided it was time for Whitney to go, she can't but accept that and try to move on.

Of course, that's not to say that she doesn't have a hard time coping with the reality of it all – having to bury a child must be every parent's worst nightmare.

Whatever consolation she has, Cissy gets it from knowing that, in her short life, Whitney accomplished more than others do in two lifetimes.

Considering the legacy she left the world with, it's safe to say Whitney will never be forgotten.

“I know I did the best I could… I don’t blame myself. I know I did the best I could for everything. I’m very proud of my daughter. She accomplished a whole lot in the short time that she had here… she was a very wonderful person,” Cissy says.

“I have my moments… I’m not there yet… I don’t think I’m any more courageous than anyone else. I am a true believer in God, if I could bring her back I would, but that's not possible,” she adds.

The preliminary cause of death in Whitney's case has been determined to be accidental drowning. She had a heart condition and had consumed cocaine before getting into the bathtub.
