In September, fabulous model and successful businesswoman Cindy Crawford is launching her interior-design line that bears her name with J.C. Penney. The collection includes everything from bedding to cushions and rugs, all in an attempt to bring the dose of stylish comfort necessary to turn an average house into a home, as the star explains to Redbook’s September issue.

Crawford has a serious background in fashion (being still a working model at 43, as the entire world must already know by now), so it’s only understandable that some of that also reflected in her interior-design creations. As per her own words, she has always had this secret dream of helping people settle down and discover their home – which is how she came to the conclusion that only comfort and style could make that happen.

“We had a lot of conversations that involved the word traditional. Coming from fashion, that’s like fingernails on the chalkboard. […] So we are trying to incorporate fashion concepts into the home. When I was in high school, my legs were so long that all my jeans were like floods. To me, having pants that have a break feels luxurious. That’s how I approach window coverings. I don’t like curtains that look like floods; I want a puddle of fabric on the floor. Another example I use is that the Indigo Dreams comforter is like blue jeans for the bed. It’s soft, it’s easy, and it goes so well with everything.” Crawford says of how discussions with J.C. Penney went in the early stages of designing the collection.

The gorgeous model also adds that, aside from the aesthetic considerations, her creations are also conceived in such a way so as to allow each and every customer to find something that suits their taste and personality, because a home in the true sense of the word also has to have plenty of the latter. Style combined with quality and, last but not least, price, has led to the birth of the Cindy Crawford furniture line, the model further explains.

“It’s my take on home fashion. The whole concept is to help women discover their own livable, comfortable style by offering versatile pieces that are updated classics. And it incorporates what Penney’s does so well, which is quality and value. I love the idea of home as your sanctuary, as the place that tells a story about you – and how individual that is for every person.” the model adds.
