As the release date of “The Expendables 2” is drawing near, rumors about the highly anticipated production, which literally gathers all great action stars of the '80s and '90s, are starting to pick up pace.

One in particular is getting movie buffs a bit hot under the collar – namely, that the film will be a PG-13 release instead of an R-rated one as the original.

A PG-13 film means less violence, less foul language and less explicit images / scenes, but that last part didn't apply to the first film, which can only mean that “2” won't have swearing and violent scenes.

Apparently, this was the only condition Chuck Norris imposed when in negotiations for a part, he says in a recent interview, a video of which you can see below.

Norris doesn't make violent films and he is not about to change that now, with “Expendables 2.”

“With The Expendables 2, you have a lot of vulgar language in there that means that means that young people won’t be able to see it. I said, I don’t do movies like that,” Norris says.

“I didn’t do them in the past, I didn’t do them on my TV series. I said, you have to cut out all the language, hardcore language or I can’t do it. So they did, and Expendables is now a PG-13 film so kids can see it,” he adds.

Whereas fans of the original film and movie buffs in general say that an R-rating was one of the things that attracted them to the idea of “Expendables 2,” Stallone insists that we should all hold judgment until release.

A film like “The Expendables” can be amazing even without swearing and blood and gore, he says in a statement to Ain'tItCoolNews.

“The film is fantastic, with Van Damme turning in an inspired performance… Our final battle is one for the ages. The PG13 rumor is true, but before your readers pass judgment, trust me when I say this film is LARGE in every way and delivers on every level,” Stallone explains.

“This movie touches on many emotions which we want to share with the broadest audience possible, BUT, fear not, this Barbeque of Grand scale [expletive] Bashing will not leave anyone hungry…” he adds.

“The Expendables 2” will be out in theaters this summer. We'll see then if the PG-13 rating has influenced the action in any way.
