For the last few weeks, the Chronicles of Spellborn MMORPG marketing team, along with people from Frogster - their European publisher, has been working hard to piece up together something really special for the Leipzig Games Convention. While it was not all smoke and mirrors, they managed to create a massive booth build in likeness to "The Labyrinth" and sway passers by to take a look, with help from their bewitching booth babes. Thousands of Beta DVDs, exclusive new t-shirts, a container full of prizes, two exclusive Within Temptation concerts and even Spellborn mirror stickers complemented the event.

The excited dev team explained in a recent blog: "With producing over 20 decibel more noise then the allowed sound limits, we had quite a challenge to convince the rest of the booths in the concert hall to allow us to do the concerts in the first place. Equipped with 2 big boxes of DVDs we managed to convince all of them, which resulted in a concert experience most attendees will remember for quite some time."

The big Within Temptation concert stage was erected on Tuesday, featuring Spellborn style and looks, heavy on exciting pyrotechnic tricks. In fact, the whole idea was a handful on accounts of space, noise and fire control, but it was all set up to go live the next day, in Hall 4. On Wednesday, the Convention started with a special day for press and professional visitors. There were not one, but two concerts featuring the melodic German metal band, attended by over 500 people each. Within Temptation presented two tracks, "The Howling" and "Sounds of Freedom", specially composed for the Chronicles of Spellborn. These proved to be a huge success and will furthermore be used in Spellborn promotional activities. More information on a third track will be revealed soon.

The lovely PR ladies from the Spellborn booth asked visitors to wear game stickers all day and come back at 17:00 for their rewards. The trick worked like a charm, thus every day the Chronicles of Spellborn booth was assaulted by hordes of fans, with "Satanamura" paintings and some exclusive Dell flatscreens as official incentives. Needless to say, many people were interested. The constant fluxes of visitors furthermore drew media attention to the Spellborn booth during the later Convention days, although the main coverage took place on Wednesday.
