It intends to bring Google+ Hangouts to your office desk

Chromebooks and, now, Chromeboxes are supposed to be cloud-based, cheap systems that anyone can use for photos, documents and web browsing, and any other operation that doesn't need massive on-board performance, but Google wants the usefulness to broaden.

Not to say that it has changed the broad specification guidelines to any extent.

What I mean is that Google doesn't want Chromeboxes to be used just by random customers.

Instead, it thinks the mini PCs, like the ones that HP has just released, could be a great fit for businesses.

In a new blog post, Google talks about Chromebox for Meetings. ASUS and, at some point in the future, HP and Dell will make a room ready for teleconference meetings in HD.

The setup would supposedly be very simple, and meetings would be possible to set up with a single touch of a remote control (no PIN numbers or codes required).

Everything would be tied into your Google Apps account, and you would be able to invite people to the conference even if they lack a Chromebox of their own. All it takes is a GMail account. Finally, UberConference will enable someone to dial in from their phone if they aren't near a computer.
