Google has released a couple of updates for Chromebook owners, those running the stable or the beta channel versions of Chrome OS and Google Chrome. With this latest round of updates, Chrome OS 811.154 is now available in the stable channel, while Chrome OS 1011.62 is in the beta channel.

Likewise, the core Google Chrome browser has been updated in both cases and, this time around Chromebook owners got the better half of the deal since they got versions not yet available to desktop users. The version differences are minor though.

As you'd expect, the stable channel version, packing Google Chrome 14.0.835.204 is a bug fixing release and only comes with some stability fixes as well as a fix to PDF rendering.

If you're running the stable channel, it should all be smooth sailing, so Google is focusing on 'rocking' the boat as little as possible, with small, safe updates. That is, until the next major version of Chrome and Chrome OS comes around, not long now.

For Beta channel users, Google has prepared Chrome 15.0.874.83. Again, the focus is on bug fixing, but there are few known issues, to be expected on the less stable channel.

The latest beta update for Chromebook owners brings Flash Player 11.0.31.109. The new Web UI login has gotten some performance fixes and PDF scrolling has been fixed.

As for the things that don't work in the beta, there is no 3G activation message, even though the feature works correctly. The WebUI is reporting that the device is offline, for x86 machines, even though there are no network problems.

There are some issues with both the Gobi 2K and the Gobi 3K wireless chips found in some Chromebooks. All of these should be fixed by the time the next beta channel update rolls out though.
