Good news for Chrome beta users, as Google has just announced that it has released a major update for the Android mobile browser.

The most important addition to the core of the browser’s powerful features is the ability to put shortcuts of any website directly on the home screen.

In addition, Google has confirmed that a refreshed new tab page has been included, so some Chrome beta users might notice that it loads faster than the previous one.

Last but not least, the update brings supports for Web Speech API. Check out below the full changelog of the latest update for Chrome Beta for Android:

- Application shortcuts: Easily add any website shortcut to home screen via menu. Some websites will open in a full-screen, no browser UI experience; - requestAutocomplete(): Checkout experience on the web has been made simpler; - Refreshed New Tab Page: Some users will notice a refreshed new tab page that also loads faster; - Support for Web Speech API.

But that’s not all, as Google has already assessed a list of known issues, which are likely to be addressed in future updates for Chrome beta. You can find some of the most important below:

- Most visited web pages are not updated as thumbnails in Most visited section of NTP; - [M31] 'Add to homescreen' option still available for bookmarks on Old NTP; - 3rd party URL's from web app opens with glitches and blank screens; - [Youtube] Complete blank screen and interrupted video when tapping H/W back button when playing video; - [M31] Changing volume using device volume buttons exits full-screen videos; - Some known crashes.

You can now download Chrome Beta 31.0.1650.11 for Android for free via Softpedia and keep in mind that the application is fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 4.0 and up.
