With the release of the new beta version of Chrome 17, Google also released the 16.0.912.75 stable version which comes with three major security bug fixes.

Mozilla’s Boris Zbarsky found a high-priority use-after-free flaw in animation frames for which he was rewarded with $1,000 (700 EUR). The same amount of bounty was given to Jüri Aedla who discovered a heap overflow issue in libxml.

Google Chrome Security Team’s Cris Neckar detected a stack-buffer-overflow in glyph handling using AddressSanitizer, a tool that finds memory errors.

Windows, Mac and Linux users are advised to update to the latest stable version of Google’s Chrome web browser to make sure they’re protected against malicious operations that may be launched to rely on these weaknesses.
