For months, most Christina Aguilera talk in the media and the blogosphere has been all about her weight gain, which became even more apparent in recent weeks. Speaking to Marie Claire, the February 2012 issue, the star says she's not letting that bring her down.

Just days after proudly owning her curvy figure in a statement to People magazine, Christina does the same with Marie Claire.

Having been in the spotlight ever since she was just a child, she says she's seen it – and experienced it – all, so that she now knows there's really no way of making everybody happy.

As such, she “automatically” blocks out all talk about her weight, whether it's to say that she's too heavy or that she's too thin.

“I’ve been through my highs, I’ve been through my lows; I’ve been through the gamut of all things in this business. Being too thin. Being bigger,” Christina says.

“I’ve been criticized for being on both sides of the scale. It’s noise I block out automatically,” she adds.

Having people's approval isn't the most important thing in life, she has learned. This is what actually allows her to block all this “noise” out.

“I love my body. My boyfriend loooves my body. My son is healthy and happy, so that’s all that matters to me,” the diva stresses.

Now that she's found love and acceptance for her body, Christina stopped weighing herself: as long as she feels good in her clothes and she knows the people around her will love her no matter what, she doesn't need the scales to tell her she's beautiful.

Speaking of her son Max, Christina also reveals being a single mother isn't easy, even if her ex-husband, Jordan Bratman remains very involved in their life.

“It’s hard not having the consistency of a partnership on a daily basis. It’s a struggle. But I can’t single out my ex-husband [as the problem] because he’s a devoted father and great with my son,” she says.

“We always make sure that we put Max first. I have help from family and good people around me in support of my career. I couldn’t do what I do without a strong team behind me,” Christina adds.
