14 DAY TRIAL // Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian’s mother, initially wanted Christina “The Voice” Aguilera to perform at her daughter’s fabulous wedding over the weekend. However, she considered $1 million to be too much to pay to have her sing live at the reception.
Dubbed the “wedding of the year,” the nuptials of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries saw the crème de la crème come together for the exclusive black and white event.
Literally, no expense was spared to make the wedding ceremony the most fabulous of the year – except, says Reality TV Magazine, the fee of the performer.
As a well placed source reveals, Jenner initially wanted Aguilera or Jennifer Lopez to sing at the reception, to truly make it the biggest social event of our times.
“According to an insider close to Kris Jenner, Kris originally wanted a big name performer like Christina Aguilera or Jennifer Lopez to perform at the wedding, but there was one problem – she was not willing to pay!” the e-zine writes.
“With private concerts by both of the singers costing around $1 million, Kris opted not to go with Christina Aguilera or Jennifer Lopez, as she told friends she refused to compensate that much for their time,” adds the same publication.
Instead of featuring a huge act at the reception, Kris opted to have a DJ and a performance by Earth, Wind and Fire, which, again, didn’t really go hand in hand with the whole “wedding of the year” concept.
“There is nothing wrong with that, but being that this was the so called ‘wedding of the year,’ we would have thought she would have gotten a bigger name, more age appropriate act for Kim Kardashian and Kris Humpries’ big day,” Reality TV Magazine points out.
It also says that Kris didn’t object to her daughter wearing 3 designer outfits on her big day and forking $20,000 on the cake alone – but the fact is that the Kardashians didn’t pay for any of this, as we also informed you yesterday.
