Christina Aguilera unveils cover art for new single, “Not Myself Tonight”

As promised over the weekend, Christina Aguilera has set the wheels in motion for her comeback to music scene. A big announcement has been made on her official website, and it comes under the form of the cover art and the name of her upcoming single, “Not Myself Tonight,” as fans can see right there on the artist’s webpage.

Though more details on the single, and perhaps the song itself, are expected to be made public in a few hours, as a new countdown timer reveals, the cover art hints that fans are in for a change in sound. Gone is the Marilyn Monroe-esque look or the vibe of old school glamour, as they have been replaced by a she-devil clad in black leather and smiling with a full mouth painted in a dark shade as well.

The devil look is completed with horns and a tail, while the name of the single is written in black and smudged letters. The only details on the song available at this point in time are the result of speculation – but they’re better than nothing, as AceShowbiz points out. “The song reportedly is produced by powerhouse music maker Polow da Don and co-written by Ester Dean. Expected to be included in Christina’s upcoming studio album ‘Bionic,’ it is said to be sent to radios soon after hitting the web,” the e-zine says.

“Previously rumored to be dropped in ‘July or beyond,’ the album itself hasn’t got an official release date. But, Christina’s camp promised to bring update surrounding the effort everyday this week on her website. Christina Aguilera has confirmed that fans can expect the unexpected in the forthcoming release since she experiments with new sound in it. Ladytron, M.I.A., Goldfrapp, Santogold and Christopher ‘Tricky’ Stewart are some of the names who helped her finishing the album,” AceShowbiz writes.

In past interviews, Christina said that she was “most proud” of how the album was shaping up, which is still believed to drop under the name “Bionic.” With a list of such brilliant collaborators and the artist’s unmatchable talent, she most certainly has every right to be so proud, it’s being said. Keep an eye on this space for more details on this.
