Comedian Tracy Morgan caused quite a stir over the weekend when word got out of a series of comments he made last week, during a standup number. Chris Rock was the first to come to his defense, saying it was sad to live in a world in which Morgan could not be offensive.

Though word of what Morgan had said to get everybody so upset spread like wild fire on social networking websites, it would seem that Rock was among the last to hear the full story.

This is the only possible explanation for why he decided to come to his defense, and on Twitter no less, it is being said.

“I dont know about you, but I dont want to live in world where Tracy Morgan cant say foul inappropriate [stuff],” Rock initially tweeted.

Presumably, his followers immediately got back to him to let him know what it was that Morgan said that offended so many people – and Rock backtracked at once.

He wasn’t aware of how inappropriate and out place Tracy’s jokes had been, he said, also on Twitter.

“Tracy morgan is a tad off we all know that so when tracy says something i usually don’t take it anymore serious than i would a statement from gary busey or flavor flav,” Rock wrote.

“when i first heard the statement i thought it was offensive but it also reminded me of my father saying ill kill you if you ever bring home a white girl,” the comedian shared.

However, there was more to Morgan’s offense than what Chris’ father would tell him, he soon realized, wherefrom the apology.

“but after reading everything tracy said . wow i get it that [stuff] wasn’t called for and i don’t support it at all. now can i please go to the tony awards without getting my [expletive] kicked,” the star wrote.

As we also informed you over the weekend, though we can’t reproduce in writing what Morgan said, we could sum it up by saying he said being gay was a learned behavior and that he’d stab his son if he ever told him he was gay.
