New material arrives now on December 8

Chris Brown’s first studio material ever since the Rihanna incident back in February this year, the one album that skeptics said he would never get to make because of the media and public backlash, has been moved up one week. Instead of arriving in music stores on December 15, as initially planned, “Graffiti” drops on the 8th of the same month, Billboard confirms.

Neither Jive Records, Brown’s label, nor the singer himself has made any mention to the media as to why the release date was changed all of a sudden. However, ongoing speculation has it that, with Brown’s past track record of keeping his fans up to date with absolutely everything on his Twitter page, one might easily infer that the same will happen now as well. In other words, fans looking for an explanation for the altered release date should keep an eye on his Twitter page.

“Originally tweeting a Dec. 15 release date, Chris Brown’s much-anticipated album, ‘Graffiti,’ has been pushed up a week, Jive Records has announced. Now available on Dec. 8, the label did not state a reason for the change as of press time. Brown’s single, ‘I Can Transform Ya,’ featuring Lil Wayne and producer Swizz Beatz, has been on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart for five weeks and is currently at the No. 16 slot,” Billboard writes.

And, while “I Can Transform Ya” is burning up the charts – while coming with an impressive video as well, as we also noted on a previous occasion – his second single too, “Crawl,” is getting rave reviews. “I Can Transform Ya” is officially a good lead for the album, as it’s an up-tempo dance track that is bound to get massive airplay. “Crawl,” on the other hand, places emphasis on Brown’s softer side, so to speak, tackling the never-dying theme of an impossible love that would, otherwise, stand as the symbol of ultimate freedom.

In the meanwhile, Chris Brown has also been putting on some appearances, with more scheduled to come soon, as the release date for the album draws near. Just recently, the singer headlined the New York’s Power 105.1 Powerhouse 2009 concert at New Jersey’s IZOD Center, in his first public performance ever since the aforementioned February incident involving girlfriend Rihanna.
