14 DAY TRIAL // Chris Brown and Rihanna have been “hooking up” regularly these past 3 years, namely since they officially broke up after he put her in the hospital. As it turns out, his girlfriend, model Karrueche Tran, has known about it all along.
Earlier this week, all rumors of a not-so-secret affair between the two exes seem to have been confirmed when not one but two musical collaborations emerged online.
Now, Radar Online is reporting that, indeed, Chris and Rihanna have been “hooking up” and, more importantly, Karrueche was never in the dark about it.
She and Chris have an open relationship, the e-zine claims, and she's smarter than to ask Chris for an exclusive romance when he's clearly not ready to commit yet.
“Karrueche isn't stupid, and she has told friends that they have an open relationship. She never asks him about Rihanna, ever,” says a source close to the model.
“Chris will take several days to call her back at times, and that is OK with Karreuche. She doesn't pressure or hound Chris, it's just not what she is about,” adds the spy.
Karrueche, it seems, knows it's in her best interest to stay with Chris because he boosts her public profile considerably. For that to happen, she knows Rihanna is an off-limits topic.
“She recognizes that they are both young, and she isn't going to let the fact Chris is spending time with his ex-girlfriend come between what they have,” the insider says.
However, all of this doesn't mean that Rihanna and Chris are back on, the same spy explains. She's ready to take the public backlash but she doesn't want to be Chris' girlfriend again, being happy with the way things are right now.
“They have probably hooked up no more than half a dozen times in the past year. It's very unlikely that Rihanna and Chris would ever get back together though,” says the tipster.
“Rihanna doesn't care if she were to get public backlash if they were to reconcile, she is the one calling the shots now, which she likes. Rihanna knows that if they were to get back together, she wouldn't be able to maintain that strong role, and Chris would lose interest,” adds the source.
