He’s no monster, the baby-faced singer insists

Chris Brown is breaking the silence for the first time in the many months that have elapsed since the alleged Rihanna attack. However, he’s not yet ready to speak of the attack in itself, although fans should be thrilled to learn that he’s more than happy to announce a new album this year and a single that will be released this summer, all in a video posted on Bow Wow’s YouTube channel.

In the brief clip made public, shot with a camera set up in a bowling alley, Chris Brown rubbishes recent reports that he was recently snapped with a black eye, apparently insisting celebrity blogs and tabloids are out to ruin his reputation. Despite all adversities – and there have been plenty of those since he allegedly beat ex-girlfriend Rihanna to a pulp – Chris managed to smile and tell fans that he still loves them, while also urging them to keep an eye out for new material this year.

“I just want to say ‘What up’ because I ain’t been out there in a minute. We ain’t going nowhere. Everybody that’s haters, they just been haters. All my real fans, I love you all. I ain’t a monster.” Brown says to the camera. In the same video, he also reveals that a new album called “Graffiti” will be released this year, while a yet unnamed single should drop this summer. Unfortunately for fans, the singer does not mention whether the single in question is the country-ish song “Trapped in a Dream” that producer Robert Allen was speaking of a couple of days ago.

“Maybe we’ll see an appearance from Carrie Underwood or someone like that.” Allen was telling the media the other day, as quoted by MTV. “It’s that kind of song. [It’s] just feeling like you don’t want that dream to go away. Everybody has a dream and you’re in it, but you wake up and you’re like, ‘Oh, my God.’ You feel like you’re still in that dream.” the producer added.

Allen is acting not only as a producer for Brown’s upcoming material, but is also one of the writers so, if he’s saying there’s a new sound that the singer will embrace for his next project, then it must be so, several music-oriented publications are pointing out. From what he’s saying, Chris Brown is focusing now on his music alone, a thing that his own short videotaped statement seems to indicate.

“We just focus on music. We’re just happy-go-lucky people who just get into the studio as much as possible.” Allen said the other day. In the short clip posted online, Brown too “just focused on music,” save for the “monster” reference. For more details on this, keep an eye on this space.
