It looks like Chris Brown is going to be spending the better part of 2014 behind bars, as his latest request to be released from custody has just been denied by a judge in Los Angeles, sending him back to the jail facility he's been staying for some while now.

The bad part for him is that he's going to have to make his way back from Washington D.C. where he appeared in front of a judge for another assault charge, the same way that he came from California, via the dreaded “Con Air” inmate transport system, despite the fact that he requested to be allowed to make his own way across the country.

The 24-year-old singer is currently involved in a trial for assault, but it's been put on hold until the appeal of his bodyguard's conviction is completed. For those of you that haven't been keeping track with Brown's numerous run-ins with the law, he's been thrown in jail because he violated his probation that he'd been placed on in 2009.

Now, he and his bodyguard Christopher Hollosy have been arrested for an incident that took place in Washington last December and in which they are accused of trying to beat a man who tried to get into a photograph with the singer.

Initially, Brown was placed in a rehab facility instead of prison and was said to be showing signs of improvement over his temper issues, but after he broke several cardinal rules there, he was promptly thrown out and then whisked away to jail by local law enforcement officers.

The District Attorney is now saying that he doesn't want Chris Brown to be released, arguing that his case has only gotten worse since he was incarcerated. However, Brown's legal team is arguing that there hasn't been a probation revocation hearing since their client was placed in jail.

His trial having been postponed until June, according to TMZ, it looks like he's going to have to get used to his situation. The delay is caused by the fact that prosecutors refused to grant bodyguard Hollosy immunity in order to allow him to testify without jeopardizing his own case.

Be that as it may, Brown is definitely not out of the woods yet. If the judge decides to convict him for the assault in D.C. and it's determined that he violated his probation, Chris is looking at four more years in jail.
