Verizon and Chomp have just announced that the latter's search application will be available via the carrier's V CAST Apps and Android Market.

Chomp is known for its expertise in the app search technology, so Verizon customers will be able to search for apps in both Android Market and V CAST Apps.

Cross-store search is a huge milestone both for Chomp and the broad landscape of apps,” said Ben Keighran, chief executive officer and co-founder of Chomp.

Not only does this help minimize the app discovery problem, it also adds a valuable layer to the app search experience, providing app seekers with options that will expose the best apps for the lowest cost.”

Besides its main search capability that Chomp provides to users, it enables Verizon Wireless customers to find apps based on what the app does, as well as the title or name of the app.

The application's proprietary search algorithm with the ability to find and compare apps across multiples stores allows for an enhanced search experience by providing more pricing information and options across the two application stores in one.

Other highlights of the application include:

- Filter any search based on price and category; - Get app and topic suggestions as typing; - If the name of the app is wrong, Chomp can make better spelling suggestions.

Verizon Wireless customers with V CAST apps enabled devices can download Chomp from V CAST Apps.

Chomp is available for free on a number of popular phones from Verizon Wireless. However, download charges vary and airtime or MB charges may apply when browsing, downloading and using certain applications, so it's best to use a Wi-Fi connectivity to avoid these extra charges.

In addition, Chomp is also available as a free download from Android Market and is compatible with all smartphones running Android OS 2.1 or later.
