When Apple released the iPhone 5S in golden hue, a lot of people got very excited and hoped the Cupertino tech giant might add the same coloring option to the iPads models. But we all know this didn’t happen.

However, if you still have your heart set on a golden iPad/iPad mini and you’d settle for a replica, we have just the thing for you. Here’s the Onda V819 Mini Tyrant Golden Edition, a Chinese tablet very similar to the iPad mini which ships for $114 / €83, says PadHz.

The product will ship out starting December 11 and actually comes with pretty decent specs like a 7.9-inch screen with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. Under the hood there’s an Allwinner A31S processor clocked at 1GHz coupled with 1GB of RAM running things plus PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU.

The Onda V819 Mini Tyrant Golden Edition also has 16GB of internal storage, Bluetooth, 3G, microHDMI, microSD card and two cameras (2MP on the back and 0.3MP in front). The slate relies on a 3800 mAh battery so it should provide an average life span.

The Chinese clone is certainly no iPad mini on the inside, but if you want a thin (only 7mm / 0.2 inches) slate with a premium look, maybe you should keep an eye on the Onda.
