A pair of lions currently living at the Chongqing Zoo in China recently caused quite a stir following their managing to escape from their enclosures and setting out to explore their surroundings.

Information shared with the public says that, by the looks of it, the animals only managed to escape because of one of their keepers' negligence.

Thus, it is being said that the latter forgot to lock their cages, and that the lion and the lioness did nothing more except take advantage of the opportunity they found themselves presented with. Sources say that zoo employees and several police officers succeed in trapping the female after about one hour, and were quick in returning it to its cage.

However, the lion proved to be more of a challenge, meaning that catching it took about four hours.

In case anyone was wondering, it appears that this little stunt they pulled did not harm either the lion or the lioness in any way.
