Lipstick is a common cosmetic product used by many women around the world, but have you ever thought about having your bust sculpted on a lipstick bar? That's what Hong Kong-based artist May Sum does: creating unique designs and clever miniature sculptures.

The artist uses tubes of lipstick as the canvas for her tiny carvings, and on top of them she creates intricate works of art.

After the “Woman Power” series, which included figures of influential women modeled in lipstick, May presents another fascinating collection, this time consisting of floral sculptures.

According to Daily Mail, each piece included in this new botanical series took between 12 to 13 hours to create, but the ones that contain more detailed portraits can take up to a week. The fine detail means that tiny and precise tools are used during the carving process.

May, who began her career as a make-up artist, says her creations can be used for their original purpose, but potential buyers will have to fork out £529 ($887/€646) for one piece.

“They can be used since all the lipsticks are new,” she told the aforementioned publication. “I reinterpreted the meaning of lipstick. Each sculpture makes lipstick become an art work. Each lipstick is a brand-new story.”

May Sum's art pieces are perfect as a special gift for any woman and are available for purchase on luxury launches website VeryFirstTo.com.
