A fake Steve Jobs biography currently being sold in Taiwan for the equivalent of $8.10 (52 Yuan) has nabbed its seller around $39000 (one million NT).

Roughly translated to “Steve Jobs Gives 11 Advices To Teenager” in English, the book in question is reportedly translated by a man who goes by the name of "John Cage."

The author cannot be reached, as the phone number and listed address are conveniently not valid.

According to MIC Gadget, the fake bio originally began selling at KingStone, a Taiwanese bookseller, in April.

Since spring, the book has sold 4,000 copies which should cumulate to spell almost $40,000 in profit.

It is believed that the book is nothing more than a compilation of translated interviews and other publicly-available works.

Other top Taiwanese bookstores like Books, and Eslite, claimed the publisher had showed identification when they put the book up for sale.

The sellers say they’re not removing the book from their shelves, as they believe the author and the content of the book are genuine.

An official Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson is slated to launch on November 21st, 2011.

According to the head of the Consumer Protection Commission department, those who bought this fake Steve Jobs biography have the right to demand a full refund, but only if it can be proven that the publisher is deceiving/

If the content of the book proves to be nothing more than a scam, the publisher will be charged according to Chinese legislature.

Strangely, Apple has not stepped in to have the book banned. If there’s anything more iconic about Apple than the company’s logo, it’s Steve Jobs himself, and his image is not to be tarnished.

Those who want to buy the book can purchase it via Chinese online retailer Taobao, where it is selling for $52 Yuan, or roughly $8.1.
