With a nod for an award in the Best Actress category and especially with many saying that she will actually get to take the coveted Oscar home, Angelina Jolie says that family is more important than any career in the world. Moreover, should the panel decide that she’s not the best actress of 2008, she would be OK with the decision as long as partner Brad Pitt gets to own the night at the Oscars, Angelina also adds.

Invited on Good Morning America, Angelina has ditched her usual secrecy in family matters, and frankly admitted that, while her career was reaching new heights with every movie she made, she would never trade it for time spent with her children. Granted, she’s not considering retiring from acting either, but she’s adamant that she spends as much time as possible with her children as she can. This way, she states, she can make the best of both worlds.

“I’d say kids [come] first, kids, woman to Brad and then my work internationally and being a kind of… trying to educate myself and trying to learn about the world and… trying to do some good things while I’m alive.” Angelina reveals. “I’ve been lucky enough to have a great career and a lot of success. But I wake up every day just the happiest mommy… I don’t want to wake up one day and say I had my career that expanded so much longer and I did that many more films and miss out on all those other things in life.” the actress explains.

In the same interview, Jolie also admits to rarely watching her own films, saying that she has way more fun doing them than seeing the finished product. She does, however, watch Brad’s, and she’s rooting for him at the Oscars come February 22, even if she personally does not win anything. As it’s already known, Angelina is in the race for Best Actress for her performance in “Changeling.”

“Um, sometimes.” she tells when asked whether she watches her own movies. “I like the process of doing them more than watching them. No, I just, I don’t really like to watch movies.” As for the Oscars, “I feel very very lucky that I have won in the past. Listen, it’s lovely to be nominated. But I’m hoping Benjamin Button does really good on the night…. I’m rooting for Brad.”
