The development team at Ubisoft in charge of the upcoming Child of Light announces that is has entered into partnerships with both Cirque du Soleil Media and the singer and pianist Coeur de Pirate, designed to extend the artistic qualities associated with the video game.

The collaboration with the world famous Cirque de Soleil means that the entire experience benefits from their experience linked to costume design and theatrics, which adds more authenticity to the creation of the game and allows the team to expand the exotic universe and its unique elements.

Patrick Plourde, the creative director in charge of the project at Ubisoft, states, "Videogames invites players to be immersed in virtual worlds and no one is better to create immersive and magical experiences than the artists of the Cirque du Soleil. So to be able to collaborate with them to achieve Child of Light’s ambition to create a playable poem was a dream come true."

The mystical atmosphere of Child of Light is also enhanced by the work of Coeur de Pirate, a singer and songwriter who has worked with the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra in order to recreate the epic and operatic feeling that the video game creates.

Plourde adds, "Music is one of the most important ways to communicate emotion to players. The music of Coeur de Pirate is fresh, romantic and optimistic, a perfect match for what we wanted to express with Child of Light. I am extremely honored that she wanted to join us on this adventure."

Child of Light is a re-imagining of a classic fairy tale as seen through the art of the watercolor works of the Golden Age of Illustrations.

The entire experience is created by a small number of developers at the Montreal studio of Ubisoft who are using the all new UbiArt Framework, a new engine that can be used to create smaller original titles with limited resources.

The team says that playing Child of Light makes the player feel like he is exploring a complex and interactive painting that has a unique personality.

The new game will be launched on April 30 on the Xbox One and the 360 using the Live service and on the PlayStation 4 and the PS3 using the PSN.

Gamers can also get it on the eShop for the NIntendo Wii U home console and on PC using uPlay and other digital distribution platforms and a pre-order offer is currently available.
