14 DAY TRIAL // A woman from Berkshire, England has reasons to sacrifice her pet chicken. The male bird, named Sarah, swallowed Claire Lennon's diamond earring and there is no way for the owner to retrieve it.
According to the Telegraph, it is impossible for the 38-year-old woman to get the expensive piece of jewelry back without taking the chicken's life.
She tried feeding it laxatives, but the earring is lodged in a section of the bird's digestive system which does not allow expulsion at this point.
She went to a vet to have Sarah operated on, but she was warned about the risks of him dying.
As a result, Lennon has decided to wait up to eight years until Sarah dies of natural causes.
She claims that killing the pet would be devastating for her 6-year-old daughter, Mia.
