14 DAY TRIAL // Pop star and television personality Cheryl Cole is off the market again: the stunning singer tied the knot in secret with her boyfriend of just 3 months, luxury restaurant entrepreneur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, whom she met in May this year, at the Cannes Film Festival.
Confirmation of the happy news comes straight from Cole, who posted the photo above to her official website, along with the actual wedding announcement.
Just in case the photo needs more explaining, that’s her brand new engagement ring and her even newer wedding band: details on the bauble have not yet been made public, but what we’re seeing is a platinum princess-cut diamond ring and a diamond wedding band. Both look expensive.
“I usually do not discuss my personal life but to stop the speculation I want to share my happy news. Jean-Bernard and I married on 7/7/14. We are very happy and excited to move forward with our lives together,” Cheryl writes in the caption to the photo.
Ironically, just yesterday, the British tabloids were speculating on when she’d be tying the knot after various “insiders” revealed that she was so in love with her new beau that she was willing to throw all caution to the wind and marry him as soon as possible.
It seems that, at the time the spies were dishing this kind of details, the deed had already been done.
Other reports in the British media say that Jean-Bernard has already met Cheryl’s family, who love him. He even traveled with her to Edinburgh last week, to be with her while she spent a few days there for the auditions on X Factor UK.
The two are believed to have moved together in Hertfordshire last month. Apparently, less than 10 people knew about their plans to marry because Cheryl wanted to keep the whole thing a secret until she was ready to make the announcement herself.
“She’s never been so happy,” a spy tells The Sun. “Cheryl’s madly in love and had no fear about taking the plunge. She’s delighted he’s her new husband and wants to have his babies. It’s a beautiful thing. She’s on cloud nine right now.”
This is Cheryl’s second marriage: she married football star Ashley Cole in 2006, filing for divorce in 2010 after he was accused of cheating on her various times, with many random women he used to pick up when he was away.
She also dated DWTS dancing pro Derek Hough for a while, right after the split from Cole, and one of her backup dancers. The latter romance ended when he decided he wanted to move to the US.
