Singer and television personality Cheryl Cole loves tattoos: in fact, she loves them so much she’s having her old ones redone and extended, as recently surfaced photos reveal. Her lower back ink now covers the area entirely – and goes down her pants.

As the Daily Mail reports, though she no longer wears tops that reveal her midriff, fans got a glimpse of Cheryl’s new ink the other day, when she went to rehearsals and her arm movements made her top expose part of it.

Once, she had there a large butterfly and some barbed wire, but the new design seems to go down her pants (as it were), and might even be connected to the one she revealed on her thigh a short while ago.

“The 27-year-old was spotted with the new inking across her lower back, which continued to sprawl behind her trousers, as she arrived at the talent show’s Fountain Studios in north London,” the Mail notes.

“Despite covering her figure in a loose jumper, trousers and boots, the Promise This singer exposed the etching as she stepped out of her car and raised her arms in the studio,” the tab further says.

While the butterfly was higher up her back, the latest design is much more complicated and definitely at least several times larger – though what it exactly means is yet to be determined.

“The new addition accompanies the large butterfly tattoo situated higher up on her back,” the Mail says. Photos would seem to indicate that the latest design rater incorporates than accompanies the older piece.

“There is a chance, of course, that Cheryl’s latest design could be part of the same etching which she showed a glimpse of last month on the upper part of her left thigh,” the tab says.

As also noted above, Cheryl is a huge fan of tattoos – she has 5 known so far: the butterfly on her back (which has been transformed), barbed wire on her thigh, a tattoo on her hand, “Mrs. C” on her neck and another design on the left cheek of her bottom.

Since pictures of the tattoo glimpsed at last month have not been made available, it doesn’t make the tattoo count. For pictures of Cheryl’s latest piece, see here.
