Developed by App4mac, CheckUp is a powerful tool for Mac users that need to monitor the behavior and health of their computers. Currently at its third beta release, version 2.0 adds an improved user interface, an array of new functions, new export abilities, and more.

The utility has been designed to monitor the usage of CPU, Memory, Disk Drives, and Network Adapters. Users have total control over their systems, being able to display detailed information about all running processes and pause, or terminate them at any time. CheckUp can alert them when a certain resource exceeds a certain value, for example, or can help them determine if their computers are able to run a certain version of Mac OS X.

The folks at App4mac have literally outdone themselves, as far as the user interface is concerned. Designed with a top priority on high usability in mind, the CheckUp UI allows users to set up their environment in the shortest time possible. The tool works with any Mac with a PowerPC G4, G5, or Intel Processor, and is even able to monitor a remote Mac from the local network or via the Internet, making it a  powerful tool for IT administrators.

CheckUp 2.0 Mac Beta 3 brings the following changes:

· New function to test the memory and detect bad components. · New function to optimize the performance of your computer. · New documents tab view. · New function to find duplicate files. · New function to see how many files you have per type and the related app. · Totally redesigned system view. · Improved uninstall function (more items can be uninstalled). · Redesigned wireless network detector. · New possibility to export a report of your Mac. · Possibility to quit all applications with one click. · Many other small improvements.
