A group in half black, half white leotards dance to folk-rock

Optical illusions are always a blast, and the video posted above, which has uploaded in March, is an illustration of one that is very simple to recreate.

Dancers perform to a tune by German folk-rock polka band Hiss in half black, half white leotards. All their outfits are sewn to one another at the hip, for the effect to be more impressive.

They coordinate their movements and lift their legs up, having the legs dressed in white up at the same time, as they do with the legs in black.

Scientific American has covered this clip and they explain that we are fooled by the trippy dance because we tend to associate colors, viewing objects colored alike sitting close to each other as groups.

"Our visual system insists in grouping adjacent body parts by color (and congruent motion)," their piece reads.
