I'm sure you remember "What about Bob?", a movie in which Bill Murray plays a neurotic New Yorker struggling with a whirlwind of paralyzing phobias. If you're that kind of germ freak, you might hail the USB Digital Microscope as the best since the personalized napkins hit the shops.

Forget the "Germ Freak's Guide to Outwitting Colds and Flu" manual. You need real Guerilla equipment to keep your keyboard clean. First, you need to spot the enemy! Look at your keyboard. You probably can't see the millions of bacteria colonies quietly thriving on your keyboard buttons (Backspace, W, A, S, D, eh?). OK, connect the USB Digital Microscope to your PC and prepare to see some incredible stuff. All you have to do is install the included software, start zooming in the bacteria neighborhood and take pictures. Don't freak out if you see houses, schools or even minuscule malls full of tiny gremlin-like creatures. Once you find the parasites, mark the infected spots and wash them with a good germicide (or just burn the keyboard and get a new one). If, par miracle, you don't spot anything, it means the last night keyboard's acid soap shower was pretty effective. False alarm again!

Here are some specs. The device's single lens lets you get a 20 x , 50 x, and 200 x magnification, while a quartet of white light LEDs illuminate the suspects very clearly. Still images are captures in a 1024 x 768 resolution. It is presumably great for industrial inspection, science education, forensics, printing, textile, printed circuit board (PCB) inspections, jewelers and much more. Come to think of it, it can also be used to self-check for cavities.

The USB Digital Microscope retails for 179, 99$.
