Wood filament is used by some 3D printers, but actually 3D printing planks will probably never be achieved, not in our lifetime anyway. That's why the Cavity skateboard couldn't be made of wood.

It's still noteworthy though, because despite being made of ABS plastic, it works just as well as any other.

Well, that much we can infer  anyway. The weight might not be the same, so aerodynamic tricks might take some practice to refamiliarise yourself with.

Anyway, the Cavity Board was made of seven layers under the guidance of Jac Currie, Tas Oszkay and Mo Harmon, who got together at the UCLA Masters of Architecture program.

Jac was the Media Specialist, Mo is the Geometry Specialist and Tas was the Fabrication specialist.

The team wants to make new models from laser-sintered nylon (flexible and stronger) and then sell them.
