With the current focus on the Chinese mobile industry, you’re probably familiar with the name Ramos. This particular device maker is actually one of the country’s largest tablet OEMs and its slates are pretty popular in Asia.

That being said, it appears that the company is also gearing up to produce a smartphone product. Everyone these days is making smartphones. For example, China’s popular TV streaming LeTV has just released a couple of handsets that look pretty sleek, so why wouldn't Ramos try its hand at building handsets too?

A bunch of renders apparently showing Ramos’ upcoming first handset have been dug up by Gizmo China. Naturally, we can’t confirm whether these renders will turn into a real product someday, so you’d better take this info with a grain of salt.

Could this be Ramos' first smartphone?

If this turns out to be the case, the Ramos smartphone might have a chance to make a real impression on the Chinese market. As you can see for yourself, the handset arrives with practically no bezels on the side, as most phones coming out of Asia do these days.

If we’re going to treat these renders as the real deal, we can say that Ramos’ first handset will probably be made out of metal, or the back side at least will be constructed out of aluminum.

Speaking of the handset’s back, you can probably notice it features a dual camera setup, pretty much in the vein of the Huawei Honor 6 Plus, which is known to be taking beautiful pictures. On top of that, one can spot the LED flash located next to them.

The source also tells us that the Ramos phone will take advantage of a 4,850 mAh battery on the inside, which is a lot better than what we normally see on handsets these days.

It appears that the phone will run Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, but Ramos is probably going to develop its own custom skin to spice things up a little bit.

It remains to be seen if Ramos is brave enough to take a plunge into a market that slowly started to become oversaturated. We’ll keep you posted with novelties on the matter.
