Remember RNID told us about the risks of becoming deaf if listening to music - possibly on your MP3 players - too loud? Well, if you've already got to phase two, then this might be good for you.

Besides wearing such a funny name, Phonak Audeo takes the art of hearing to another level, although I don't see any art in doing that. Now, seriously speaking, this is a nice and stylish device that could help hearing-challenged people. It comes in 15 different color schemes, to suit any taste, and features two microphones, a high frequency optimization option, and new technology.

Technically speaking, the Phonak Audeo Personal Communications Assistant is sleek and mostly discreet, revealing a tiny ergonomic shape. The built-in dual microphone array was strategically placed to provide clear speech without any background noise. Not to mention the virtually invisible transparent connecting wire is ingeniously shaped to follow the contour of the ear, to deliver the sounds straight to the Fidelity Sound Port resting in the ear canal.

Apart from that, the device comes with a powerful internal computer microprocessor, which analyzes the user's "world" and easily adapts to the various environments. The device comes with a lot more technical details.

According to Phonak, "an external receiver provides a smoother frequency response than can be obtained with an acoustic slim tube. Placement of the receiver in the ear canal, coupled with CrystalSound technology provides the fullest access to extended high frequencies. By taking the receiver out of the microBTE housing and placing it in the ear canal, Aud?o becomes unbelievably small, even with a 312 battery. The tiny case size and transparent wire combine to offer unrivaled cosmetic appeal."

And that's great news! If you check the manufacturer's site, you'll see there is more to come from Phonak!
